Loops and Living Holds

Self-Portrait from Nicole H.D.W. Sinclair on Vimeo.

Loops and Living holds are devices used in motion graphics for two reasons; the loops are used in the background of animation to create a sense of atmosphere and environment. Whereas the living holds are typically used to create motion in a simplistic manner to denote movement, for instance within a lyric video if there is a pause, the animator may add some static movement to engage with the viewer and show that the animation is still playing. I found this session interesting and will defiantly keep the techniques in mind for future animations.
