Throughout this academic year, I have also been taking part in the extra curricular motion graphics group "Motion Go" which is run by our tutor Sara. As part of this we have been working with Heritage Quay Archives and the material they have available, in regards to a previous Huddersfield resident named George H. Wood. George Wood was a statistician and over his life collected a very impressive archive of data, both based locally in and around Huddersfield and on a national level. As a group we were very interested with working with the material to create a series of Info-graphics using the skills we have learnt over the past two years.
As a team we worked out a colour palette to stick to which was decided based on the colours which frequently would appear within the physical collection itself, such as book covers. We also chose a base font as our guidelines for the videos, though we could use other fonts within our clips if we wished, though it is due to our own discretion.
I created the below short clip which examines working hours for boys in times gone by.

As part of creating this collection of animations, we set up an exhibition at the empty shop in the Huddersfield Piazza and created promotional material to advertise the event at local shops. The below video is the long showreel which features all of the groups clips together.

I am happy with how this project went as it was self-initiatied between us all and through group effort was a success. I found working on a project as part of a team to be an interesting dynamic and gave for a useful comparison to when I work on projects for coursework on my own.
